Biogas Heat Exchangers

A specialised range of heat exchangers tailored for the biogas industry. These units are designed to cool biogas and condense water vapor from the gas inlet stream, improving the efficiency of downstream purification processes.

Typically installed at the start of the purification train following the fermenter, the heat exchangers help enhance the removal of contaminants such as Hydrogen Sulphide and Ammonia which dissolve more effectively in the condensate at lower temperatures.

These facilities typically consume three to four times more energy per square meter than standard office buildings, making efficient heat recovery essential for sustainability and cost savings.

How It Works

Our heat recovery systems use thermoplastic heat exchangers integrated directly into the corrosive fume extraction ductwork. These exchangers are connected via a run-around coil system to a heat exchanger located in the fresh air intake of the building’s Air Handling Unit (AHU).

Winter: The system pre-heats incoming fresh air reducing the heating demand on the AHU.
Summer: The system cools the incoming air easing the cooling load.

This approach significantly reduces energy consumption, lowers operational costs and minimizes the environmental footprint of your facility.
